The Hangover

The Hangover is a comedy crime movie released in 2009. It is directed by Todd Phillips, who directed “The road trip” which has a similar plot. The movie has Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, and Justin Bartha playing the lead roles. This is a complete comedy movie with some hilarious scenes that are new to its genre. It is written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. It is said that the story was inspired from real life of the writers and some of the incidents are similar to the scenes in their movie.

The story is about four friends, who travel to Los Vegas to have a bachelor party as one of their friends is getting married in the next few days. Everything was going well until they realize that they lost their friend who is supposed to be the groom. They forgot everything that happened last night and they woke up in a strange situation, which includes a tiger in their bathroom. Being confused, the story moves on by revealing scenes belonged to their previous night one by one like marrying a striper, stealing a cop’s car, getting a punch from Mike Tyson etc.

The next part of the movie reveals why it happened, which is absolutely hilarious. The dialogues in particular are to be noted as they have a perfect timing delivery. Then finally the story says how they find their friend and settle the problems with a big mafia. A movie which has everything for a perfect comedy movie, being a crime movie too, it doesn’t have a single serious scene. Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms rocked the movie with their performance.

The characters are well written and they synced to the pace of the movie. The movie has a nonlinear narration which merged the present scenes and the flashbacks accordingly. The movie has some good background scores composed by Christophe Beck. The beautiful thing about the movie is they don’t deal with scenes that make the reputation of a comedy movie. They have fresh scenes and beautiful characters to play them. Though this travelling plot is used in many movies, this movie is for sure is one of the best among them. Being said these the movie requires parental guidance.
